Dear Members of the NYTVF Community,
The NYTVF is looking for clever, short videos to use as interstitials during screenings at the 2010 NYTVF.
What are we looking for?
Comic takes on PSAs (Public Service Announcements)–ones which celebrate the positive effects of television, and illustrate the horrible consequences of pursuing other activities. Help warn the people of America about such dangerous habits as reading, sports, gardening, hiking and scrapbooking!
The style can be reminiscent of anything from “One to Grow On” or “The More You Know” to a 1950’s educational film. Spend a pleasant afternoon searching for “PSA” and “fake PSA” online for inspiration.
How long does it need to be?
No more than 30 seconds.
How do I submit?
Upload your video to the sharing site of your choice, then send a link to [email protected].
What is the deadline?
All links need to be received by 11:59 PM on August 31. Any PSAs selected for use as interstitials will be notified the following week.
So what happens at the Festival?
Selected PSAs will be shown as interstitials during screenings of the 2010 NYTVF. More info at www.nytvf.com.
Do I get anything if I am chosen?
You get the glory and adulation of a grateful republic. (And of course, you get shown at the Festival.)
Any restrictions?
- Do not mention the NYTVF itself in your video.
- In fact, stay away from mentioning specific brands, shows, people, or networks.
- No music or other components which you do not have a legal right to use.
- While there are no content restrictions per se, use your best judgment.
Still have questions? Send them to [email protected].
We hope you take this opportunity to have some fun, and we look forward to seeing your work!
Regards,
–NYTVF
