NYTVF SPOTLIGHT PREMIERES THIS FRIDAY ON NYCLife

Hey New Yorkers, check out the NYTVF Spotlight on NYCLife (Channel 25) to see highlighted selections from the 2010 Festival.

Episodes air on Fridays at 9 pm, with replays broadcast throughout the week.

NYTVF Spotlight Season Three Schedule:

Fridays @ 9:00 PM on NYC Life (channel 25)
Jack in the Box
Created by: Michael Cyril Creighton and Marcie Hume

Friday, 9/16 @ 9:00 pm
Jack loved theatre…until he sold tickets for it. A mild-mannered young man with a BFA in acting and no life skills, he took a job at a box office because it didn’t involve lifting, blazers or Excel. Thousands of customers later, Jack finds himself less mild-mannered than ever before. He attempts to manage his anger, but, like all caged animals, he is going to start throwing things at passersby sooner or later. Service with a smirk is all you can ask for.

Fridays @ 9:00 PM on NYC Life (channel 25)
Illuminati Brothers
Created by: Matt Fisher , Alden Ford and Justin Tyler

Friday, 9/23 @ 9:00 pm
Two fun-loving brothers inherit the leadership of a secret society that has been running the world for centuries. In the pilot, they cross paths with hot FBI agents, the old men who built Justin Bieber, an immortal Central Park Knight, chloroform rag after chloroform rag, and girls in bars. Just another day in their quest to make the world a more awesome place and become the Illuminati Brothers!

A Guy and His Beaver

It’s All Elementary
Created by: J Kyle Manzay

Friday, 9/30 @ 9:00 pm
“9 AM Meeting” follows two unassuming office drones who are stuck in an early morning meeting that their boss may or may not have entirely forgotten. Unwilling to go back to work, the two are forced to make idle chatter to pass the time. These discussions quickly veer from the mundane to the absurd, and every flight of fancy is visualized via 9 AM Meeting’s unique cartoon style. If The Office and Waiting for Godot had a baby, that baby’s best friend might well be “9 AM Meeting.”

A GUY AND HIS BEAVER
A guy navigates through life with the help of his friend, sidekick and life coach: a beaver. Beaver’s simple ways and annoyed teeth wiggling hide a wisdom and affection that guide Guy through the many mundane events of his life. Follow along as the two trick-or-treat, go on pencil-filled dates, try to understand the intricacies of spooning, and so much more in this delightfully tender look at friendship between A Guy and his Beaver.

IT’S ALL ELEMENTARY
“It’s All Elementary” is a stop motion animation series that focuses on the life of a cynical but socially awkward child author Jeffrey “Goodie” Goode and his brave attempt to save the students of C. R. Bling Elementary from the school’s mindless Hollywood driven superficiality and the principal who loves it. The show’s edgy but family friendly humor lampoons American pop culture, social issues, and many aspects of the entertainment industry.

Streak to Win
Created by Adam Bedient and Sean Tice

Friday, 10/7 @ 9:00 pm
“Bush Cooking” gives unique access to everyday African cooking and culture. In Malawi, host Vincent describes the meal as he and his family begin preparing it. He and “Bush Cooking” animator, Nick Vranizan, highlight the distinctions between African and Western cooking. While the meal simmers, Vincent also shares the differences and positive traditions of his culture. The meal may only cost pennies, but it is finer than food at the fanciest western restaurant.

AMERICAN SURF DESIGN
JP and Andrea Holeman balance their relationship and custom surfboard business as if they’re riding a monstrous wave–one wrong move could send them into a disastrous crash. Balancing eco-friendly practices and inventive surf designs, the Holemans work to make their business as profitable and life-fulfilling as possible. Of course, when you have employees bringing their larger-than-life personalities to the table, it’s not always easy to get things done.

STREAK TO WIN
“Streak to Win” chronicles the Hamilton College Varsity Streaking Team’s rise to Division III Champions. The squad transforms the age-old college prank into a college sport, wreaking tongue-and-cheek havoc through college classrooms, libraries, quads and sporting events across New England. With an incredible sensitivity to pop culture and the mythology surrounding America’s greatest athletes and sports stories, the tour is a parody of the classic sports tale rife with internal conflict, but also a greater desire to succeed.

Fridays @ 9:00 PM on NYC Life (channel 25)
A Okay
Created by: Russell Ford, Clay Keller and Andrew Merrill

Friday, 10/14 @ 9:00 pm
“A Okay” is a darkly funny and occasionally sweet look at the selfish nature of friendship: its gives and takes, fights and forgiveness. The pilot features beleaguered children’s television host Mike as he scrambles to save his ratings-challenged show, Veggie Ventures. His roommates Sam and MG, meanwhile, encounter ragers, suicide, and possible new love, all to find a dining room table. Life is weird, surprising, and usually a little screwed up, but in the end it’s all going to be A Okay.

Fridays @ 9:00 PM on NYC Life (channel 25)
Rolling
Created by: Justin Dec and Carlos Vega

Friday, 10/21 @ 9:00 pm
“Rolling” is a show about two friends chasing their dream by starting at the bottom, a theme anyone can relate to…it just happens to be set in the world of making television. Danny and Harry have landed their dream jobs working on the hit crime show Citizen’s Arrest: Miami. They’re given entry-level positions as Production Assistants and they quickly learn that it’s going to be a long road.

Fridays @ 9:00 PM on NYC Life (channel 25)

Patrick and Molly and All the Small Things
Created by: John Brookbank

Captain Coulier
Created by: Lyndon Casey

Friday, 10/28 @ 9:00 pm
“Patrick and Molly and all the small things…” is a compilation of rapid fire glimpses into the lives of a young couple. Husband and wife Patrick and Molly deal with relationship issues in interesting and quirky ways. Whether it’s buying anniversary presents or borrowing your spouse’s belongings, the duo explores the hilarious intricacies of the mundane.

CAPTAIN COULIER
Sick of the pressure from his parents to become successful on Planet Earth, Anthony Coulier impulsively signed up for the “Explorer Project.” This government program, created to curb overpopulation, offers willing bodies great incentives: free room and board, a ray-gun, and a flying saucer to scour the universe. Although lured to space by the promise of action, adventure, and glory, Coulier now battles space travel’s greatest obstacle… boredom.

Fridays @ 9:00 PM on NYC Life (channel 25)
Pioneer One
Created by: Josh Bernhard

Friday, 11/4 @ 9:00 pm
An object from space spreads radiation over North America. Fearing terrorism, U.S. Homeland Security agents are dispatched to investigate and contain the damage. What they discover is a forgotten relic of the old Soviet space program whose return to Earth will have implications for the entire world. Answers lead to more questions as these intrepid agents look to find the truth of the events that are quickly changing the national landscape.
