Finalists Announced
HISTORY and the NYTVF are pleased to announce the five finalists chosen from the field of 15 semi-finalists in the second annual HISTORY Unscripted Development Pipeline. Each of the five will receive notes on their projects from NYTVF and HISTORY development executives as well as a prize of $2,500. Finalists will also receive $1,500 to shoot additional tape to further enhance their projects. From there, the creators of one winning project will receive $10,000 as well as the opportunity to participate in the creation of a network pilot based on their concept.

Semi-finalists Announced
The NYTVF is proud to announce the fifteen semi-finalist projects in the 2nd annual History Unscripted Development Pipeline. All of the selected producers will have their projects reviewed by the network. Five finalists will be named by History and have the opportunity to create additional tape under the guidance of the channel and the NYTVF. One winner will win a $10,000 prize and the opportunity to participate in the creation of a network pilot based on their concept.

History and the NYTVF are re-teaming for an innovative program seeking original unscripted television treatments from independent artists and production companies. Submissions should focus on charismatic male characters living in surprising worlds or with fresh points of view. See below for more from History.
A screening committee of NYTVF judges will narrow the pool of entrants down to 15 semi-finalists. These semi-finalists will be presented to History development executives, who will select five finalists from among the 15 projects. Each of these finalist projects will receive notes from the network and $2,500 to shoot short presentations that further explore their subject. One winning project, selected by History, will be awarded $10,000, and the creator(s) will have the opportunity to participate in the possible production of a pilot.
All 15 finalists will receive designation as 2014 NYTVF Official Artists and an exclusive invitation to participate in the 10th annual New York Television Festival, held in NYC in 2014.

From the deals on “Pawn Stars” to the misadventures with “The Legend of Shelby the Swamp Man” and the ingenuity of the “Mountain Men”, History is a #1 destination for authentic informative unscripted entertainment for men. The purpose of this NYTVF initiative is to introduce History to the next generation of emerging producers and story tellers who have found dynamic aspirational male characters in exciting exceptional worlds. What makes these characters interesting and drives them? Why should the audience care about this character/group and what they do? Are these characters experts in their worlds? Is there clear exciting action that can provide material for multiple episodes/ seasons? Try to think outside the box of what is on our air. After all- we already have it! The History brand is sharp, gutsy, genuine, and rooted- and we think you might have the next big thing!

Eligibility
- Entrants must be 18 years of age or older and legal residents of the fifty (50) United States or the District of Columbia
- Formats must be:
- Completely the original work of the entrant
- Not created or funded by broadcast networks, cable networks or major production studios
- Not copied from any other source or previously broadcast or otherwise distributed or disseminated on television (except for previous broadcast on locally distributed campus or public access television or limited Internet broadcast)
- Not in the public domain
- Not in violation of or conflict with the trademark, copyright, rights of privacy, rights of publicity or any other rights, of any kind or nature, of any other person or entity
Entry Requirements

- Five (5) Pilot Screening Copies, two (2) to four (4) minutes in length
- Playable DVDS: Five (5) copies of the Pilot Program with label of Producer, Director and/or Production Company and contact information
- Compressed video file: One (1) copy of the Pilot Program saved as a compressed/ QuickTime file on a data DVD (MP4, H.264 or MOV preferred. Recommended output minimum 640w x 348h pixels, or under 200MB)
- One (1) to two (2) page treatment describing the unscripted format, which must be submitted as both a hardcopy and as a PDF file type on a data DVD
- Subject video must be submitted on playable DVDs formatted for multi-zone or Zone 1 (North America)
- All videos must have a total running time of between 2 and 4 minutes
- One (1) screen capture image/digital frame from the Pilot, saved as a JPG file on a data DVD
- Signed Application Form
- There is no fee to enter
