Submission Info
Lifetime and the NYTVF are teaming up for an innovative program seeking original unscripted television treatments from independent artists and production companies. Submitting producers should focus on concepts and characters that revolve around big, unique personalities and worlds that bring a fresh perspective to the television landscape. See below for more from Lifetime. Twenty-five semi-finalists will be reviewed by the network with five finalists receiving development funding to produce additional tape. Finally, one winner will receive $10,000 and an opportunity to work with Lifetime Programming to produce a pilot presentation of their winning submission.
A screening committee of NYTVF judges will narrow the pool of entrants down to 25 semi-finalists. These semi-finalists will be presented to Lifetime development executives, who will select five finalists, each of whom will receive notes on their projects and $2,500 to shoot short presentations, exploring their subject, under the guidance of a Lifetime approved production partner. One winner, selected by Lifetime, will be awarded $10,000 and he/she will have the opportunity to participate in the possible production of a pilot.

Lifetime Creative Brief
Lifetime has partnered with the New York Television Festival for a unique initiative providing indie producers with the opportunity to develop unscripted programming with the cable powerhouse. Submitting producers should focus on concepts and characters that revolve around big, unique personalities and worlds that bring a fresh perspective to the television landscape. While the network's audience and focus is primarily women, creators are encouraged to consider broadly appealing scenarios that are multi-demographic and of-the-moment entertaining. Unscripted formats of all genres are welcome, with particular interest in docu-series as well as social experiment formats a la “Wife Swap”, close-ended competition and game show formats. Please avoid “Women in a Man’s World”, Wedding and Animal Grooming (hee). If a particular pitch centers around a crowded landscape such as law enforcement, cooking, or home improvement, please take great care to show how you would tailor the series to Lifetime.
